berita mengejutkan mengenai total penjualan lahan virtual yang menembus angka US$100 juta. Usut punya usut, rupanya kumpulan lahan virtual tersebut merupakan bagian dari proyek dunia virtual yang lebih dikenal masyarakat sebagai <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">metaverse.<\/span><\/i><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Meski saat ini masih dalam tahap pengembangan, nyatanya banyak perusahaan ternama berlomba-lomba mengambil bagian dari sejarah pembangunan <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">metaverse<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. Sebut saja Microsoft, Google, Apple, Sony, dan tentu saja Facebook yang sampai rela mengganti nama perusahaannya menjadi Meta. Maka, secara harfiah, <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">metaverse <\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">dapat diartikan sebagai sebuah realitas lain yang berada di luar dunia nyata.<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Dalam novel tersebut, Neal menggambarkan <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">metaverse <\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">sebagai alam imajiner yang tersedia untuk masyarakat di seluruh dunia lewat jaringan <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">fiber optic<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, lalu diproyeksikan sebagai realitas virtual (<\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">virtual reality<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\/VR)\u00a0 melalui sebuah kacamata khusus.<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Pada referensi yang lebih modern, gambaran <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">metaverse<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> kurang lebih seperti apa yang terjadi dalam film \u2018Ready Player One\u2019.
